The sapphire step windows also known as T-Windows, these step windows excel in applications such as viewports, pressure, and vacuum situations. They are particularly well-suited as viewports for deep ocean vehicles, showcasing resilience to harsh saltwater conditions and debris, all while maintaining a thinner profile compared to traditional glass counterparts.
While round sapphire optical components are typically the most cost-effective, rectangular windows can also be produced, often cut from round stock. At AOG, we possess the necessary machinery to create custom-shaped windows as well, ensuring flexibility in meeting diverse requirements.
