Metallized Sapphire Window

for biochemical analysis and spectroscopy, dental instruments, and endoscopes Applications
circular-metalized-sapphire-windows
  • High-hardness 9 Mohs, outstanding scratch resistance and chemical stability
  • Material: Optical grade single Sapphire crystal (Al2O3)
  • High transparent to wavelength of light between 0.3 μm (UV) and 5 μm (IR)
  • Widely used for high-temperature, chemical-resistant, and optical applications
  • Great transmittance, about 80%-90% in the visible light spectrum (approximately 400-700 nm)
  • Extremely high melting temperature (2030 °C)
  • Customized by design artwork
  • The purpose of a metallized sapphire window is to allow the optic to be soldered or brazed into place within a metal housing. Metalized, or solderable sapphire windows are commonly used in endoscopes and other hermetic brazing applications.

Metalized sapphire windows can better withstand the harshness of today's more aggressive autoclaves, as well as chemical and plasma sanitation systems.

The medical industry also benefits from sapphire windows, which are utilized in medical imaging, medical lasers, biochemical analysis and spectroscopy, dental instruments, and endoscopes.

    Notes

  • Anti-reflection coatings are also available at your specified wavelength.
  • Sapphire transmits ultraviolet light, but sometimes exhibit fluorescence when subjected to powerful ultraviolet sources. For this reason, they are best suited for use with visible to infrared wavelengths.
  • AOG SAPPHIRE OPTICS can provide nearly any size metalized sapphire windows.
