The purpose of a metallized sapphire window is to allow the optic to be soldered or brazed into place within a metal housing. Metallized, or solderable sapphire windows are commonly used in endoscopes and other hermetic brazing applications.
Metallized sapphire windows can better withstand the harshness of today's more aggressive autoclaves, as well as chemical and plasma sanitation systems.
The endoscope is used very bad environment, needs the high-temperature sterilization before using.
It needs very high hermetic to prevent the moisture intrusion detected system, the moisture would
affect the optical image clarity and service life.
